Winter Ice Castles Shoot

It’s the middle of summer, so what better time than to remember a cool, blue, ice-filled wedding inspiration shoot? Kalli from Kallidoscope Photography reached out to me via a Facebook group, and I had no idea I was about to connect with one of my favorite people in the industry! She mentioned that she was planning a styled shoot at the Ice Castles in Wisconsin, and I couldn’t resist being a part of it.

Brunch Wedding Inspiration | The O'Henry Hotel

Usually combining two of your favorite things leads to something even better - that’s exactly what happened with this shoot. When Carly of Carly Marie Events called to say she had a Brunch Wedding idea for a shoot, I knew I couldn’t pass it up. This real styled shoot was put together by one of our favorite vendors - Rachel Le from Rachel Le Events. Rachel has superb taste and attention to detail, which was what made us such a good team when we used to work together (this was when Design by Laney barely existed!), and it showed through in every little aspect of this beautiful shoot! Take a look at these dusty details and let us know what you think! Full vendor list is provided below, and all photos are courtesy of the talented and wonderful Garrett Richardson Photography

However, I have been asked to collaborate and asked others to collaborate in efforts that have been mutually beneficial for all parties involved - this is actually how I landed a mention in People last year! I am a firm believer in the power of collaboration, so I wanted to share some common misconceptions about collaborating and what the truth really is. If you are planning a collaboration soon, then these are some vital tips to be aware of to make sure you get the most out of it (and don't set off any of those alarm bells with your fellow creatives!).

Romantic Wedding Stationery for Del Mar Lifestyle Magazine

Romantic Wedding Stationery for Del Mar Lifestyle Magazine

Have any of you ever thought "I am exactly where I am supposed to be right now"? It can be surreal when your dream experience just kind of falls in your lap, but that is exactly what happened with this romantic shoot for Del Mar Lifestyle Magazine! I was having lunch with an amazing friend and colleague, Bree of I Love You More Events , when she mentioned an upcoming shoot for Del Mar Lifestyle Magazine, and that they could use some romantic wedding stationery. Of course I said YES immediately (okay fine, there may have also been some high-pitched squealing and a few excited hand gestures, but it was basically a YES), and starting working that afternoon!
